User:Michael Balamotis

Doctorate degree in Molecular Biology from UCLA in 2007 Post doc in Arnie Berk's lab at UCLA until 2009. Worked on Mediator of Transcription control of Immediate Early Genes in ES cells and differentiated MEFs. Focused on the MED23 subunit. Moved to the Lawrence Berkeley National Labs to join Terumi Kohwi-Shigematsu's group in 2009 to study chromatin dynamics. Focused on SATB1 protein in the mouse brain, specifically in the amygdala. Linking the SATB1 genome organizer with changes in gene expression and animal behavior. Currently still at the LBNL as of Feb 2012.
